Having been up most of the night with my nose to the grindstone, I’m feeling a little drained this morning. The thought of how much work I’ve cranked out in the last 24 hours is overwhelming to say the least. But, like all things worth fighting for, of course, I have actually had to fight to earn my undergraduate degree (mentally, I mean.. not in an actual boxing match or some prissy catfight).
So to anyone and everyone battling through
school,
work,
a relationship,
whatever,
this one’s for you. Chin up and stick to it. It’s worth it in the end.
William Shakespeare’s Sonnet 116: Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove.
O no, it is an ever-fixèd mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wand'ring bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

Hey, just wanted to say that I can relate to the schoolwork blues and the sudden rush of life before your eyes, then the utter exhaustion afterwards. But, in the end it is worth it, it has to be. Nice sonnet choice, I am an admirable Shakespeare fan and sometimes his nonsensical babble is the perfect way to say it how it is. Hang in there, Christmas break will come sooner than you know! (work freeee)
This is my very favourite Shakespearean sonnet!!
its my favorite too !!!!
It's funny because I was first introduced to this sonnet in the context of my highschool English teacher's marriage vows. Today, it's kind of become my academic war cry...
